Dr. June Thompson (she/her)
Executive Director
Dr. June Thompson serves as Executive Director of the California Association of Student Councils (CASC), a position she has held since 1982. Under her guidance, the organization developed a national and international reputation for the excellence of its peer-to-peer leadership training of youth. On the national level, Dr. Thompson served as Dean of Instruction for the International Youth Leadership Program sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals, coordinator of training for the national youth board of Campfire Boys and Girls, co-designer of the National Service Executive Leadership Program for the Corporation of National Service and the architect of leadership development for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. She has consulted for a wide variety of organizations including, Habitat for Humanity, Frito-Lay, Harcourt Brace and Javonovich, People Soft, Amgen, Congresswoman Gwen Moore and the United States House of Representative Democratic Caucus.
On the international level, she designed the curriculum for three Global Youth Summits, represented the United States at the 2006 Forum for Development of a National Youth Policy sponsored by the Russian Ministry of Education and the 2006 CivilG8 meeting in Moscow. Since 1987, CASC training has taken place in Japan, Russia, Kazakhstan, South Africa and the United Kingdom. She is a co-founder of Global Youth Leaders, an international non-profit organization, committed to reaching youth across the world with CASC curriculum.
Dr. Thompson has published in the areas of teacher evaluation and leadership education. She holds a B.S. and an M.A. from Northwestern University, and a Ph.D. from Stanford University.
David Bae (He/Him)
Orange County School of the Arts | State President
Shijoon (David) Bae is a junior at the Orange County School of the Arts in Santa Ana, Orange County. A first-generation immigrant working towards advancing the rights of English Language Learners and low-income students alike, David aspires to serve and embody all 6 million students of the state of California, side by side with Victoria. Aside from political advocacy, David loves creative writing and immersing himself within nature.
