Sixty four delegates from the Doğa Schools in Turkey join California participants at the 2013 Youth Action Summit.
YASC Conference Recap:
The 2013 YASC conference concluded on Sunday, March 17 with 150+ delegates in attendance; the largest delegation in the history of CASC! At the conference, delegates were able to network with international students from Turkey, Britain, Vietnam, and Korea. Furthermore, students had the opportunity to attend workshops from organizations such as Project Mosquito Net, the Alliance for Climate Education, Operation Christmas Child, and many more. By learning about a plethora of global issues, the delegates were able to formulate their own social action projects to share with their own community. In addition, students elected the new CASC State President and Vice President at the conference, which gave them a direct voice in the future of the organization. Thank you to all the delegates who attended YASC, and we hope to continue the YASC’s success with an even better conference next year!
Presenting the 2013 Student Advisory Board on Legislation in Education. Proposals included classroom best practices, texting and driving, the effects of bullying on high school dropout rates, and API scores. Congratulations to all delegates and staff!
