2010 Summer Leadership Conferences (HS and MS)

The Leadership Skills

The CASC curriculum includes various levels of leadership development. Middle school delegates and new high school delegates begin in Track One, which encompasses:

  • personal development
  • facilitative leadership behaviors
  • team development
  • planning projects in a team
  • conflict resolution
  • meeting skills
  • personal goal setting and time management
  • consensus decision making
  • tools for strategic planning

Returning high school delegates move on to Track Two and then Track Three. Track Two builds on Track One's curriculum by:

  • taking an introspective look at personal leadership style personal development
  • exploring community service opportunities
  • influencing others using effective presentation skills
  • overcoming personal obstacles
  • networking with community resources

Track three builds on the skills developed in Track Two and focuses on:

  • global citizenship
  • issues concerning youth
  • advanced leadership skills

Elective Seminars
A full program of seminars is offered at each conference. Topics in the past have included:
